Twin wall flue is a chimney pipe that consists of two concentric stainless steel metal walls with pre-installed insulation filling the space between them which reduces heat transfer to the outer wall of the pipe to reduce the risk of fire. It is supplied in sections that connect together and it is the inner diameter that you refer to when ordering twin wall flue. This type of chimney is available in different models for use with:

• Condensing and non-condensing multi-fuel appliances
• Appliances operating under high positive pressure at low and high temperatures
• Atmospheric applications

Our stainless-steel flue pipe is a simple push fit joint flue system, build your flue system simply by placing each flue pipe on top of the previous, then securing with a locking band.

Single wall is designed for use on multi fuel applications as a chimney liner or connecting flue pipe on condensing and non-condensing applications.

Made from stainless steel, liners can be used to reline an existing chimney. Twin Wall flexible liners are made from overlapping strips of high-grade stainless steel to give a smooth seal. Flexible liners can be used with condensing gas and oil appliances.

Single Wall Flue:

• The minimum distance of single wall flue to combustibles should be 3 times the internal diameter of the connecting flue pipe.

Twin Wall Flue:

• Most Twin Wall flue has a distance to combustible rating of either 50mm, 60mm or 70mm depending on the manufacturer.

Where possible, bends in the flue should be avoided, as a straight vertical chimney performs better. However, in domestic flue installations, UK building regulations permit up to four bends.

Horizontal runs should not exceed the appliance manufacturer’s instructions and flue should not pass downwards on their route to the terminal, therefore a 3-degree fall must be maintained.
